Pingris is the name that our son Pietro has invented for this special wine.
This is a Pinot Gris that follows a further maturation of 1 year in barrique.
In addition to the first maturation lasted for 1 year in steel.
This small vineyard is producing Pinot Gris for more than 50 years . It is located at an altitude of 120 meters, in the middle of the Collio.
This vineyard is planted with a Guyot system.
Vineyard’s yield is very low: it does not exceed 40 quintal/hectare.
Grapes are cultivated with natural and BIO methods and harvested well ripen.
Our vineyard is totally hand-harvested.
Grape is collected in small open crates. After that, the grape is left to macerate its skin for 14 days. We get a great extraction of color, dark pink, and fine tannins after the maceration.
At a later time the grape is put in small wooden barrels. It is not filtered and it is treated only by adding just a little sulfur.
Pingris is a remarkable wine. It has a great character. You can smell fine fragrances. It has a great elegance, dark copper and rosy coloured.
Pingris has been resting up for three years in total: at the beginning in steel, after in oak barrels and, at the end of the process, in bottle.
The outcome is a wine that smells of eastern spices and sunsets over the Bosphorus. Its olfactory richness is a mixture of Ethiopian coffee and mineral tones, with cognac aroma.
It can move you thanks to its majesty and depth, both in the nose and palate.
